Lecture Four: How Democracy Works?

As part of ongoing efforts to broaden political and social knowledge among journalists, Journalists Without Borders organized the fourth lecture in its series of motivational lectures aimed at journalists, titled “How Democracy Works.”

The lecture was delivered by media professional Mohammed Jawad Alkhafaji, who began by outlining the historical development of democracy across centuries of human experience, highlighting key milestones that contributed to its formation and evolution. He also reviewed the general concepts of democracy, explained its fundamental principles and mechanisms, and addressed the contemporary challenges facing democratic systems in the modern era.

The lecture witnessed active engagement from attendees through questions and interventions that focused on the role of the media in supporting democratic values and promoting public awareness
