The Fifth Lecture: “Can the European Model Be a Proposal for Resolving Middle East Crises?”

As part of a series of motivational lectures aimed at supporting journalists and intellectuals in better understanding the background of events and providing deeper analysis of current developments, Journalists Without Borders organized its fifth lecture entitled:
“Can the European Model Be a Proposal for Resolving Middle East Crises?”

The lecture was delivered by media professional Mr. Mohammed Jawad Alkhafaji, who reviewed the historical development of relations among European countries across different eras. He highlighted the major transformation that took place after World War II, which brought an end to decades of bloody wars and destructive conflicts between these nations.

In this context, Mr. Alkhafaji pointed to the possibility of drawing inspiration from the European experience and applying its lessons to the Middle East, by benefiting from a model that ultimately led to the establishment of the European Union and the building of democratic societies based on balanced international relations and shared interests.

The lecture witnessed notable engagement from attendees, who shared their views and took part in discussions addressing the feasibility of applying the European model to the Middle Eastern context, while exploring diverse perspectives on the opportunities and challenges associated with this idea.
